What we collect

  • Analytics. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages and links get used. It records things like pages viewed, approximate location, device type and how you arrived. It uses cookies.
  • Hosting and security. Our site runs on Cloudflare, which processes technical data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and block attacks.
  • Email. If you join our newsletter, we keep your email address to send it. Every issue has an unsubscribe link.
  • Messages. If you email us, we keep the message to reply.

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't run ads that track you across sites today. If that changes, this page will say so first.

Affiliate links

When you click a "Check price" link, you go to a retailer such as Amazon or REI. That retailer may set its own cookies to credit us for the sale. Their privacy policies apply on their sites.

Your choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on. To ask what we hold about you or to delete it, email [email protected].

Changes

We'll update this page if anything changes and show the date at the top.
