Is the Anker SOLIX C1000 Gen 2 worth it? What owners say

Owners love how fast it refills and how easy it is to carry for the power it puts out, and most say the app earns its keep. Complaints are rare: an app connection glitch here, a price drop that stung there. Every owner review we could read outside Amazon comes from Anker's own store, so it counts half in the score.

Who should buy it, who should run

  • You want a fast refill. Quick recharging is tied for the top owner praise, with owners reporting a full battery in under an hour on the wall.
  • You'll carry it to the car, the campsite or the job site. Owners call it light for the power it puts out.
  • You want a backup for the router, a home office or the fridge for a night. Owners use it as a UPS that switches over without a blip.
  • You want to add a second battery later. Both expert reviewers point out that, unlike the first C1000, the Gen 2 can't be expanded.
  • You'll run big loads near its limit for long stretches. OutdoorGearLab found the fan gets loud there.
  • You'd pay list price. It goes on sale often, and one owner felt burned when it dropped soon after buying.

Questions owners ask

How fast does the Anker C1000 Gen 2 charge?
Fast. Quick recharging is about 17% of the praise we counted. Owners report going from 57% to full in under 30 minutes and a full charge in about 45 minutes, and OutdoorGearLab timed a full charge at under an hour.
How long will it run a refrigerator?
Owners report about 12 to 18 hours on a full-size kitchen fridge, and a day or more on a 12V camping fridge run from the DC port.
Does it work as a UPS?
Owners say yes. About 7% of the praise is from owners using it as a UPS for a router, network gear or a computer, and How-To Geek notes the switchover time dropped to 10ms on the Gen 2.
Where do these owner reviews come from?
Anker's own store. Outside Amazon the C1000 Gen 2 is sold mainly by Anker, so every owner review we could read is from its site, and brand-site reviews count half in the score. Big-box stores carry the C1000X Gen 2, a separate model with four AC outlets.
